Konjac sponge
100% natural, vegetable and biodegradable konjac sponge
The Konjac sponge is hard when in contact with the air, but when passing it under water, the Konjac sponge becomes very malleable, like a classic sponge.
But what is it ?
Konjac is actually a plant ! Indeed this sponge is 100% natural and vegetable , it contains no additives or preservatives , it is made from the root of a plant called ''Amorphophallus Konjac'' which has been cultivated in Asia for a very long time. The konjac sponge has cosmetic virtues because it is detoxifying. For more than a century, the Japanese have used it as a daily natural beauty product, this sponge is an essential tool to gently exfoliate and cleanse the skin.
Its benefits:
Brings radiance and softness to the skin after daily use . It has anti-bacterial properties. Very rich in vegetable fibers, it delicately exfoliates the skin of the face or the body. Used daily or regularly, it will unclog pores, eliminate dead skin and thus help fight against the formation of blackheads. It will also stimulate blood circulation which will accelerate cell regeneration.
Very soft, it is ideal for dry and sensitive skin, but it is also suitable for thicker, combination or oily skin , as it eliminates impurities, unclogs pores of excess sebum and helps regulate it, in fact , the konjac sponge is suitable for all skin types, even those with acne, eczema or psoriasis.
What are the different types of konjac sponges?
The white one is the original, it is suitable for all skin types
Yellow, for mature, dehydrated skin (enriched with yellow clay)
Black , for oily and acne - prone skin (enriched with bamboo charcoal)
La verte , for normal and combination skin (enriched with green tea)
Rose , for sensitive and reactive skin (enriched with pink clay )
La rouge , for dry, sensitive and mature skin (enriched with red clay)
How to use and maintain it?
You must first pass the sponge under slightly warm water to make it malleable, until it becomes waterlogged, and wring it gently without twisting it (if the sponge is very dry it is best to place it in a container of water and let it soak for a few minutes). Then rinse the face and clean it with soap by making small circular gestures on the skin, which will cleanse, unclog the pores and activate blood circulation. Do not rub too vigorously, this could damage the epidermis. Rinse the sponge with lukewarm water so that it does not contain any more cleanser then press the sponge gently to evacuate the water without twisting it (which would risk damaging it). Then let it air dry, use the cord to hang it up. All you have to do is re-hydrate it the next time you use it. Properly used and stored, a sponge lasts about 3 months. If its texture changes, disintegrates, unfortunately it is the end of its lifespan.
On the other hand, if the use of the konjac sponge is occasional, it is better to place it in the refrigerator to preserve the freshness of its fibers and prevent it from drying out.
